NORMATIVE PRINCIPLES OF COMPETENCE TRAINING OF FUTURE MASTERS OF MEDICINE IN BIOSTATISTICS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the state standard and educational programs for training future masters of medicine in accordance with modern needs and taking into account the trends in the development of higher medical education and the demands of society. An analysis of the thesaurus of the state standard for master's training in the specialty ‘Medicine’ and educational programs in higher medical education institutions of Ukraine was carried out. From the point of view of the purpose and objectives of the study, the learning goals and integral competence are established (they include the acquisition of the ability to solve complex tasks and problems, including those of a research and innovation nature in the field of medicine, which cannot be carried out without knowledge of biostatistics); general competencies (ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis, ability to make informed decisions, ability to use information and communication technologies, ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources), special (professional, subject) competencies (ability to collect medical information about patient and analyze clinical data, the ability to determine the necessary list of laboratory and instrumental studies and evaluate their results, the ability to assess the impact of the environment, socio-economic and biological determinants on the state of health of an individual, family, population, the ability to conduct analysis the activities of a doctor, unit, health care institution, ensuring the quality of medical care and increasing the efficiency of the use of medical resources, the ability to conduct epidemiological and medical-statistical research on the health of the population; processing of social, economic and medical information); program learning outcomes (specialized conceptual knowledge, which includes scientific achievements in the field of health care and is the basis for conducting research, critical understanding of problems in the field of medicine and related interdisciplinary problems, analyzing the epidemiological situation and carrying out measures of mass and individual, general and local prevention of infectious diseases, search for necessary information in professional literature and databases of other sources, analyze, evaluate and apply this information, use modern digital technologies, specialized software, statistical methods of data analysis to solve complex healthcare problems), which determine the importance and expediency of studying biostatistics for future masters of medicine. Selected general and professional competencies and learning outcomes are included in the biostatistics work program.
