APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN MEDICAL EDUCATION: ETHICS AND ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

The article examines the issue of applying artificial intelligence (AI) in medical education in the context of ethics and academic integrity. The relevance of the topic is обусловлена the active digitalization of the educational environment and the widespread implementation of intelligent systems in the training of future healthcare professionals. The main directions of AI use in the educational process are analyzed, including personalized learning, simulation technologies, automated assessment, and support for scientific research. Key ethical challenges associated with the use of AI are identified, including issues of responsibility, lack of algorithm transparency, risks to confidentiality, and the potential decline in students’ critical thinking skills. Particular attention is paid to issues of academic integrity, including the risks of plagiarism, improper use of AI-generated content, and the need to ensure the reliability of research results. The regulatory framework is analyzed, in particular the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity”[3] and policy documents concerning the implementation of AI in Ukraine [4]. The article proposes ways to integrate AI ethics principles into medical education, including an interdisciplinary approach, the use of case-based methods, the implementation of institutional policies on AI usage, and the development of a culture of academic integrity.
