Abstract

The article is devoted to optimizing the educational process for training dental students in medical universities through the use of the most modern and advanced international experience in solving scientific and technological problems. The effectiveness of incorporating non-standard approaches such as studying the experience of creating and developing startups into the core programs of dental training is substantiated. The combination of these directions, which at first glance may seem quite distant from one another, appears to be a promising approach. After all, startups play a key role in pioneering solutions across various fields of human activity today, creating all the prerequisites for innovative breakthroughs. It is from startups that companies such as Google, Facebook, Apple, and many other highly successful global corporations have grown. Therefore, it is logical to study the fundamental conceptual and technological elements of startup creation and development through the lens of their potential application in the educational process of training dental students. In our view, the most appropriate approach is to create an elective course that would offer the study of such innovative problem-solving methods, STEM approaches. This will help form the fundamental aspects of the competency-based approach among students of medical universities in the field of dentistry. Here, such key competencies as critical and analytical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and respect for diversity are particularly essential. After all, the educational process must not only prepare a highly qualified specialist, but also teach them how to practically apply their knowledge and skills. In dentistry, the combination of strictly professional skills with the ability to apply them in a way that yields both professional and economic results is particularly important. An example of the success of higher education students in the field of dentistry is the establishment of their own dental offices and network clinics. And for the best results, it is necessary to combine both professional and key competencies. To the competencies listed above, resilience must also be added. After all, competition in the field of dentistry is extremely high, and it is essential to remain as resilient and confident as possible.Overall scientific and technological progress, along with modern technologies, demonstrates enormous possibilities. And the integration of artificial intelligence further expands the range of possibilities. However, at the same time, intense competition creates psychological pressure on the participants in the process. Therefore, resilience and creativity, which are highly valued in startups, will be essential key competencies for practicing dentists, including owners of private dental offices and network clinics.
