Abstract

This paper is dedicated to comparing the traditional system of medical education with innovative teaching methods. Traditional medical education is based on didactic lectures and textbooks, which effectively transmit large amounts of theoretical knowledge to a wide range of students. However, this form of education is often passive, limiting the development of critical thinking and practical skills. Innovative methods, such as case-based learning (CBL), evidencebased medicine (EBM), problem-based learning (PBL), and simulation-based learning (SBL), allow for the integration of theory with practice, more active student engagement, and the development of clinical thinking. They use real clinical scenarios and simulations to acquire practical skills in controlled environments, minimizing the risk of mistakes with real patients. These approaches require more resources for implementation and organizing the educational process, but they significantly improve the quality of future doctors’ training. Particularly, innovative technologies enhance access to learning materials and provide students with the opportunity to study at any time and from any location, which is especially important in the context of a pandemic and armed conflict. The most effective medical education combines both traditional and innovative methods, ensuring comprehensive preparation of students for future clinical practice.
