INTEGRATION OF MODERN TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGY INTO THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN ORTHODONTICS AT THE DENTAL FACULTY

Abstract

The dental industry is rapidly developing and transforming despite the extreme conditions of modernity. The dental services market is one of the most in demand in the field of medicine in Ukraine, which confirms the need for qualified personnel and improving their training. Constant work with students encourages the search for an effective method of systematizing the educational process, distributing time between priority and secondary goals, in order to achieve the expected results. When organizing practical classes, it is necessary to take into account various factors, in particular: the motivational component of applicants, stress resistance in unforeseen situations, predisposition to certain sciences, the ability to memorize and reproduce information, etc.The article, based on a comprehensive analysis of scientific sources, explores modern strategies for systematizing the educational process in higher medical education.It is determined that the formation of a specialist in the dental field is a complex and multi-level process. A dental student goes through 5 main stages: motivational, cognitive, procedural-activity, communicative and reflective.An improved version of the “Timeboxing” method has been created as an effective time management method, taking into account the requirements of higher medical education and the peculiarities of practical classes at the dental faculty. The algorithm for using the proposed method is described.The effectiveness of using “Timebox for dental students” has been experimentally confirmed. The general population of students who participated in the experiment was 65 (39 people – experimental group, 26 people – control). The assessment results demonstrated an increase in the number of students in the experimental group who received “Good” and “Excellent” grades, compared to the results of students in the control group. An increase in motivation to study and a decrease in stress levels were also noted.
