METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO DEVELOPING THE PROGRAMME FOR THE ELECTIVE DISCIPLINE “METHODOLOGY AND ORGANISATION OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH”

The article presents theoretical and practical methods that allowed us to describe the concept of developing the elective discipline ‘Methodology and Organization of Scientific Research’ for full-time, evening and part-time students majoring in G21 ‘Biotechnology and Bioengineering’ for the second (master’s) level of education in the form of four stages (preparatory, theoretical and methodological, organizational and content-related, and final and corrective). The preparatory stage of our work was the pedagogical modeling of the Program, which was based on the implementation of a competence-based approach, student-centeredness and improving the quality of education. The theoretical and methodological stage was the development of the Program’s methodology and principles, taking into account the need to train biotechnology specialists in our country. The organizational and content stage allowed us to identify the organizational mechanisms that helped to implement the Program Concept, while the final and corrective stage allowed us to analyze the testing of the pedagogical construct. When developing the Program Concept, we used content, educational, operational and final assessment components. The authors note that the main structures of the program are practical and independent work by students, with verbal and visual-practical methods (narration, discussion, demonstration, case methods, situational tasks, etc.) being used as sources of knowledge. In terms of the nature of cognitive logic, analytical, inductive, and deductive methods are used, and in terms of the level of independent mental activity, problem-solving and research methods are used. The authors have established that in the general training of future biotechnologists in pharmacy, the didactic complex of information support for the discipline «Methodology and organization of scientific research» is important, the essence of which is to improve the content of the topics covered in practical classes.
